Law and Order

I would like to apologize for being absent from this space for a while. I do have a good reason, I think. I was called for jury duty and I was placed in a jury pool with hundreds of other people for a very important trial. The reason I said I may have a good reason is because while I think doing jury duty is paying back for our democracy, I had too many people tell me I was an idiot for not using some lame excuse for getting out of jury duty. Even though I can be as lame as the next guy, and serving would have been an inconvenience, it would have been an honor. Plus I am completely prepared to help dispense justice. I went to Perry Mason Law School, learned how to be a juror on Bull and have a degree in Law and Order. I would have been the perfect juror. Plus, I probably wouldn’t have had to make a decision. Most criminals confess in court before the trial is over anyway, right?

Dispensing justice can be exhausting. You can tell by how many recesses trails are always taking. While at the courthouse I looked around for the playground where these recesses take place. No luck.

Would love to hear about some of your experiences related to jury duty. Please share.

I will be back next week sharing from my fount of useless information.
